I’ll be honest, The Hobbit and Peter Jackson fan in me was really pleased with the this new production video. I’m sure you’ve all seen it by now, but if not you can see it here. The Richard Armitage fan in me was however a bit disappointed. That being said, I decided to make the most out of what PJ gave us! I know I’m already late to the party, but here are some of my RA/Thorin screencaps and a little something special at the end.

This pic makes me think the previous one is Kili...but maybe they just have on the same color.
I thought this looked like it might be RA in the passenger seat. (I'm probably stretching it with this one.)

It doesn’t matter that much to me, it’s not my favorite photo of him anyway, but interesting to puzzle out. 🙂
And I figured the hair flinging was going to generate an animated GIF, congrats on being the first one I’ve seen 🙂
I don’t think the second one has a ring, so maybe they are both wearing the same color. I won’t loose sleep over it. 😉 The speculating is fun. Whoever it is, it isn’t exactly a squee worthy picture anyway. 🙂
The hair tossing begged to be made into a gif. I’m sure there will be plenty of others who make gifs out of that clip and they’ll probably do a better job than me. 🙂

Funny I just posted about Guy whipping his hair and then along comes this vlog with Thorin doing a great hair toss along with his horse. LOL Love the GIF!
Of course, I selfishly wanted more RA but I agree it was an interesting and informative video all the same. I get the impression those dwarfs can be a right group of cut-ups. 😉 Gorgeous scenery and RA and his fabulous mane on horseback. It’s all good.
Craft service guys also cracked me up.
I’ve been a huge Tolkien fan since I was a teenager. So RA really is just a gigantic bonus as far as all this Hobbit stuff goes. However, the RA fangirl that has emerged over the last few years wanted a lot more of him in the vid. I’m just grateful I’m not one of the RA fans who is only interested in The Hobbit because of his involvement. Then I might really have been disappointed.
My first thought when I saw the hair toss was, “OMG, Angie’s going to flip!” It was a really cute clip, and he seemed to be having a blast. Almost makes up for the fact that he didn’t talk in the whole thing. 😉
The craft services guys were so funny! I loved how they said the suits were to help the people on the production keep track of what day of the week it was. The puffy vest to keep warm was hilarious. That one guy was right though, sometimes you have to put fashion aside in favor of comfort. 🙂
I personally think it’s the stunt double on the horse and some of the pics are of Aidan Turner, he’s similiar in height to RA. I loved the craft guys. I like how PJ includes a lot of the crew in the vlogs and gives them recognition for all their hard work.
Don’t burst the bubble, Jael! 😉 (Every pic of him would have to be the stunt double with that pet theory of yours anyway!) RA or stunt double, whoever it is looks like they are having a blast. The only part of the video that I thought was Aidan and not RA was in the clip from the river. It has been pointed out to me that he’s wearing the Thorin ring, so I’m giving in to the idea that it is RA and not Aidan.
Perhaps, but I still don’t think it looks like RA in the river pics, ring or no ring. I think this goes back to my theory from last night….I still need proof.
I’m not sure it looks like him either. He’s a big guy to be getting in that barrel. Not to mention his fear of water, maybe it is his stunt double. Truthfully, even if it is him, it isn’t exactly a pic that I’d be going to over and over to get my RA fix. 😉
I totally got stuck on the RA stuff and didn’t even think about the rest of what you said…oops. I think it is great how PJ has highlighted the crew on these films. They really are a huge part of what makes a movie great, and totally deserve the recognition!
Love your gif, I don’t know whether it’s the stunt double or not. I have a huge smile on my face and a happy feeling that won’t be going away any time soon.
The RA fan in me has long gotten over the fact that we never see much of Thorin, lol. I’m happy enough with the scraps they give us.

I wish we could see more RA in the production videos, but the fact is that this is a huge production with a large cast. It is inevitable that there won’t be much time allotted to individuals. From that first press conference-when they gathered outside for photos-we’ve seen him staying in the background. So, while a little disappointed with how little he was in the production vid, I wouldn’t necessarily say that I was suprised.

I have not seen it in the hobbit the barrel scene
I’m guessing when they made the decision to go from 2 films to 3, that the barrel scene got moved to the 2nd movie.
