We’ve all been waiting for the new vlog, so hurray! There was a lot to love about this one. The dwarf exercise routine was hilarious. But my favorite part was the little snippet of Richard Armitage in costume playing air guitar on Orcrist. Naturally I had to make a GIF so I could watch this bit on repeat. 😉

Vlog 11 + Thorin Plays Air Guitar!
Duh!
I’m sure everyone has seen the Popcorn Taxi interview with Richard Armitage by now. If you haven’t yet, you can see it here.
There was a lot about this interview that I really enjoyed. RA and the interviewer seemed to have a good rapport, he was given time to flesh out his answers and of course there was all of that speaking with his hands (which I love). But there was one moment that really stood out to me. We already knew about the question where Richard was asked who would win in a cage fight–Thorin or Dwalin. But his reaction in the video was just priceless. It was like he was saying, “Duh! Isn’t the answer obvious?”
His reaction here reminds me so much of how my friends and I are together that it just adds another thing to the list of reasons I like  the guy. I went ahead and made a gif of his reaction, because I was watching these few seconds on repeat anyway.
Oh, and this post definitely gets the beardy goodness tag, because look at that gorgeous facial hair! 😉
Paging Dr. Track!!!
Because Judiang is in need of a house call. That is the only explanation for what I witnessed tonight on Skype. Prepare yourself for the clear evidence that Judiang is in need of some special attention from the good doctor:
Do not try to adjust your screen.
You are not seeing things!
Judiang likes the baby beard!!!! But only on Richard. Although can you blame her? Look at this face:
Okay, so maybe she’s not sick. Her taste is just improving! 😉 Love ya, Judiang.
@merilyn066 and @lady0akenshield on Aussie TV!
We’ve all been squeeing over the pics on twitter of @merilyn066 and @lady0akenshield getting to meet Richard. Then the video of RA on Mornings (Is that the name of the show?) became available and I found myself squeeing all over again when I saw that they were actually in the segment!
Y’all should know by now that I like to make gifs out of the videos, so I made one of from the video that has both the ladies and RA:
One of the caps was really cool I thought, with the silhouette of the ladies and Richard in the same frame:
We’re all just so excited for you both! May the rest of the day be just as amazing for you and the rest of the Aussie fans attending the Q&A tonight.
First Attempt: Richard Armitage Screensaver
Happy Easter everyone! I hope that if this special day means something for you, that you are enjoying the celebrations.
In the last couple of days I got a spark of inspiration. What was it this time? Well, I thought I would try and figure out how to make my own screensaver. It turns out that this is a multi-step process…at least the method I found. It started out with making an animated gif in Photoshop, which thankfully I already know how to do. Then it was on to converting it to an swf file in Flash (gotta love free 30 day trials). The last step was using a freeware program that converts the flash file into a screensaver. The program was not only free, but also really straightfoward!
So here is the gif I started out with (I had to shrink it for WordPress):
Now that I know how to do this, I think I’ll go back and see if I can make something a little more polished. If anyone is interested in a copy of the screensaver, you can download the install file here. I love that once I installed the file, I simply had to go into the personalize option and select this as my screensaver. Believe it or not, I’m all about easy! 😉
To Do List: One Item Down
Most of the things on the to do list I have in my header image are ongoing or long term items. The Maggie and John story will take quite a while to finish. And let’s be honest, as long as there are images to ogle, I’ll keep on doing it. But a few of the items are things that I can actually accomplish in a timely manner, and one of them I completed yesterday while giving my twinging back a rest.
I enjoyed The Golden Hour. It wasn’t necessarily stellar television and I can’t imagine that I’ll watch it again, or at least not frequently. But the stories lines were engaging and I was able to become invested in some of the characters. Other characters I just wanted to slap upside the head–Dr. Naz anyone? Dr. Alec Track on the other hand won me over in the first episode. And no, it wasn’t just because Richard Armitage played the good doctor! Seriously, how could you not love the guy after this?
If you haven’t yet watched the show, I would recommend it. I could have seen myself watching this even without RA. But then, I’ve always enjoyed medical dramas.
Happy Birthday Mr. Armitage!!!
Where in the world is Richard Armitage? (Feel free to imagine me singing the Carmen San Diego song, while trying to make “Richard Armitage” fit. ;))
I would say Detroit is probably a safe bet, given that’s where he’s been filming his latest movie, Black Sky. And looking at my clock it is now midnight in Detroit, which means where Richard is it is now officially Armitage Day!!!!! Happy Birthday Mr. Armitage.
Hopefully you have a wonderful day–maybe you will even fit a nice dinner and a few drinks into that busy schedule of your’s.
We can’t forget the birthday cake. Hopefully someone’s made you a beauty like this:
Or maybe a cake like this. You could even use Thorin’s sword, Orcrist, to cut into Smaug!
Given your current project, maybe you’d prefer a cake like this:
What is a birthday without presents? For you my fellow Armitage admirers, I’ve given fanvidding another go. I hope you enjoy my little contribution to the birthday celebration! (Apologies to any readers from Germany, the video is blocked for you. :()
Here’s wishing Richard Armitage another wonderful year–full of happiness, joy, love, adventure and dreams come true! You really do make us smile and for that I’m incredibly grateful.
Tribute Photoshopper?
I was chatting last night with another RA fan who likes to play with Photoshop as well. I was showing her an animated gif that I really liked and wanted to try to emulate. Part of me feels like I’m being a copycat. Another part of me wants to compare what I’m doing to being a tribute band.
Tribute bands do what they do because they love the bands. They love the music of a particular band so much that they give their all to sounding and performing just like their heroes. I won’t go so far as to say that various gif makers are my heroes, but I do love what they create, enough so that I want to discover how to do it myself. So I’m not going to call myself a copycat, rather I’m a tribute Photoshopper! 😉
The most recent gif that inspired my tribute Photoshopping can be found here. I couldn’t help but wonder how it was made. After some trial and error, here is what I came up with:
In case you can’t tell, I’m still stuck on those Comic Con photos and interviews! 🙂
Finally…Vlog 7!
It isn’t very often that I don’t even touch my computer until late in the afternoon. Of course it would be on one of those rare days that there would be something of interest to an Armitage fangirl! I’m a little behind, but the wait was worth it. That being said, I still feel the need to ask: Mr. Armitage, why did we get to see so many of your castmates in plain clothes and talking and not you? Can’t you throw us a bone?
Anyway, I went through and made my own screencaps and a few of gifs.
While I enjoyed those brief RA moments, I thought the vlog as a whole was pretty great. Some of my favorite moments included:
But my favorite part of the whole vlog? This:
I don’t know about you all, but I’m so looking forward to the vlog PJ mentioned for the wrap of filming!
Porter TheRApy
I was feeling in need of a little Porter TheRApy this afternoon. May it bring someone besides me a little joy or at the very least some ogling pleasure. 😉
