RA should have kids. The question is: with who?

Its day four of FanstRAvaganza!

Richard Armitage is one incredibly handsome man. Let’s have a look at the evidence:

Now if that isn’t enough proof, just watch out for the scores of women who swoon, drool, grin uncontrollably, are rendered speechless, experience EOS (exploding ovary syndrome), or any combination of these, each and every time a new photo of him is released. With genetics like his, it would truly be a shame for him not to pass them along. After chatting with some friends I came to the conclusion that RA shouldn’t go the obvious route of having kids with someone who is a knockout like himself. Have you seen some of the poor children who didn’t get mommy and daddy’s good looks (life can be so unfair)? Evidence seems to suggest that often times, when two very attractive people procreate, their good looks cancel each other out. The result is offspring who are significantly less attractive than their parents.  Taking this into consideration, I theorized that RA should find a nice normal woman whose genes will take a back seat to his–it is after all his looks we want to carry on! (And of course, it is for the good of humanity.)

With this theory in hand, I set out on a highly scientific study to validate my supposition.*

First we shall have a look at what Richard Armitage’s children would look like if he procreated with various celebrities. The gender of each child was randomly selected.

Next, we look at what Richard Armitage’s offspring would look like if he procreate with a nice normal woman.** Again, the gender of each child was randomly determined.

My original intent was to give a decided opinion based on the findings. However, given the results and taking into consideration that old saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” polling seems the appropriate next step in this study. Therefore dear reader, it is in your hands to decide. (Besides, the poll results should be fun.)

*In this case, “highly scientific” means that I went to Morph Thing and put in RA’s picture. 😉 All celebrity female images and morphed baby images are courtesy of morphthing.com.

** It should be noted that all of the women–with the exception of one–whose images were used in this “study” were acquired from Google Images. (That one is a fan who graciously volunteered to be part of the study!) The search terms used include: average women, normal women and every day women. The use of these images in no way reflects this author’s opinion on the physical appearance of said women. (Also, the Morph Thing image requirements greatly reduced the number of photos that were viable options for this “study”.)

***Just in case there was any question: I believe in Mr. Armitage’s right to procreate (or not) with whomever he chooses. This is purely for fun.

  3. Hi Jas,
This is so much fun! And I think all the kids turned out adorable!
    Cheers! Grati ;->

  4. fitzg

All the kids are lovely! Hard choices….

  5. servetus

He’s so pale that I think that he should mate with someone with at least a little melanin in her skin, lol!

Actually I was surprised at how similar the “normal” kids were to the “celeb kids.”

    • Some of the morphed kids that I find the cutest are the ones where RA and the female and very contrasting skin color!

  6. gracie

My kid with him is the cutest. But then you knew I was going to say that.lol Actually, the kid’s image changes depending on the picture you use so it is actually quite funny. Don’t you just love science. LOL. Fun post!

    • gracie, I couldn’t make that claim. I did put my own picture in to morphthing (at the urging of a friend) and the results were NOT pretty. I’m thinking about a follow up post…RA’s ugly babies! This post was a lot of fun to do, so glad you got a kick out of it.

  7. LOL! You just proved my hypothesis all along. Obviously my kid with him would have been the cutest. 😀

  8. Roflmao, followed by what a bunch of cute kids. 🙂 Fun post and poll.

    • Humorous was what I was going for Heather! The kids did turn out cute…made the polling harder I think.

  9. Such cuties!!!! Great post, Jas….lots of fun!! 🙂

  10. Haha, this is going to take some careful study. 😀 Reminds me of the “If they mated” comedy segments on the old Late Night with Conan O’Brien show! Anyone else remember that? Well-done, you!

    • I’ve never watched Conan, but I’ve heard of that segment and thought it sounded hilarious.

  11. Snicker's Mom

    What beautiful babies!

  12. This has got to be the most original poll yet! Lots of cute kids – must be the Armitage Effect 🙂 🙂

Will have to think about my choices….and try out the morph thing for myself!

    • Thanks Fabo! You should try out morphthing. But I will forwarn you, it can be a bit addictive.

  13. LOL – I had to spend some time on this one. Cute babies, but I wonder what they would be like at 6 or 7 years?

    • It would be fun to see what an child looked like at an older age. Too bad that isn’t an option with morphthing. I did try the adult morphing at one point, but RA has so few clean shaven pictures, and non of them suited the program…I ended up with several women with 5 o’clock shadow pics, LOL!

      • servetus

Sort of like female dwarfs 🙂 I would love to know what a sister of his would look like.

  14. Luciana

After this, lots of girls dreaming about their babies with RA… LOL

    • They should just go to morphthing, Luciana! Although I should forewarn them, they might not like the results. 😉

  15. OMG! This post is so wonderful and soooo creepy! I love it!
Now, where do I send my picture to see what would be the product of my loins…(fans herself…)
This is so “Toddlers and Tiaras” LOL If only we could see them perform in the talent section, I could judge them better 😉
I will be back here once I wrap my head around this whole concept 😉

  16. It is a bit creepy, so its a good think its all just in the name of fun. 🙂 You should put your pic into morphthing. Maybe I could do a follow up post of fans who morphed their own images!

  17. lucylou

LOL – what a very crazy but cute idea, well done jasrangoon and thanks so much for spending the time with such cRAziness.

    • Thanks for commenting, lucylou! I’m glad you thought it was a cute idea, even if it was a bit cRAzy. 🙂

  18. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! All babies are beautiful! Wonderful idea! So funny and so clever!

  19. servetus

Maybe he could use the tool himself, to preview potential offspring and pick a partner that way 🙂 (If having cute kids is important to him) — j/k.

  20. UK Expat

I can’t believe how typical my selections are!! I seem to vote in the majority!!!

Or rather, we all seem to have similar tastes even in our selection among so many adorable babies! Or maybe we just think that little girl for ‘D’ is so gosh darned cute. I actually really liked the baby with Queen Latifah too, but in the end I picked Claire Forlani …. though, I’m not really sure who she is?

Can’t wait for your post tomorrow, Jas! 🙂

    • Apparently we all have very standard ideas of beauty. I expected there to be more variance in the voting, but people seem to have gravitated towards the same few babies.

  21. Joanna

Hi Jasrangoon!:) What a fun, thanks! It seems that we have similar taste.
I choose two beautiful girls but it might have sense to see them in profile.;)

    • Thank you, Joanna! I’m pleased you thought this was a fun post. We do all seem to have similar tastes, as most of the votes have gone to a few babies. Maybe we should all petition morphthing to add a profile feature to their results! 😉

  22. Bollyknickers

I once put Mr. bollyknickers and my photo’s into that site and the babies it showed looked absolutely nothing like our children.

It made me wonder if he was the father….

    • servetus

LOL. Genetics — a constantly puzzling thing 🙂

    • LOL, Bollyknickers! I’m sure morphthing is in no way an accurate indicator, but it has been fun playing anyway. 🙂

What fun! The images of the children are so darling. Yet Servetus is right — genetics is a constantly puzzling thing. Traits skip generations; children have their own personalities and unique gifts; and they constantly surprise their parents, such as when they grow up to look like a great-grandparent or have a gift that no one even remembered occurring in the family.
