How great is it when you wake up to Richard Armitage interviews!!! I’m late to the gif making party, but you know me, I’m a DIYer. I’m including the videos that the gifs come from. That way I can keep them all together.

I just love how much Richard chuckled during this interview. Clearly he has a great time being around Martin.

The hands! I adore how he talks with his hands, it is one of his most charming quirks.

 

It showed up better in the video, but I thought it was funny when Martin and Richard were both bobbing their heads.

So Much to Squee Over

I had fun this past week trying to keep up with news while away for Thanksgiving (I haven’t forgotten you my lovelies who leave comments, I’ve just been enjoying some time at the beach). There was just so much amazing Hobbit and Richard Armitage related stuff. The interviews and the new photo. The fan encounter at the airport (thank you @KellyDuck for telling us your story on Twitter)!!!!! Then the photos of some of the cast arriving in New Zealand, our boy present and accounted for!

Every day seems to bring something  new and today has been no exception.

I love this article from The New Zealand Herald, where you can slide the images one way or the other to see the transformation that Bilbo and each of the dwarves went through to become the characters.

Then there was this image from Zealandia (such a lovely thing to wake up to)!!!

 

Bless his heart. Richard still appears to be trying to shrink down to the height of others…the wide stance, the slightly hunched shoulders. I can totally relate as I frequently find myself crouching from the knees trying to not tower over others in a photo. It endears me to him all the more.

Hopefully we’ll get some more news today! No, I’m not greedy, but while the irons hot…

Nerdy Fangirl Alert

This post has nothing to do with RA. (I’m going with the “Me and My Thoughts” part of the blog name for this post. ;)) This is about a recent embarrassing fangirl squeeing moment. I LOVE the show Firefly-one of my favorites, hence the nerd girl alert. This is a show that I rewatch once or twice a year, even though there is only one season. Watching the show must of course be followed by watching Serenity (the major motion picture follow up to the show). You’re probably wondering why I’m mentioning this. I’ve discovered another quirky sci-fi show, courtesy of Netflix streaming. (I love Netflix, it did introduce me to RA!)

 

 

Anyway, this show that I’ve discovered recently is called Warehouse 13. It is about these government agents who work out of a warehouse in South Dakota. Myka and Pete are the two main field agents and they have great chemistry and banter. Their job is to find “artifacts” that have powers and threaten the world. I’m really enjoying this show, even going so far as to mention to members of my family that it kind of reminded me of Firefly.

 

 

 

So, tonight we’re watching Warehouse 13 and two of my favorite characters from Firefly are suddenly on the screen. I’m slightly ashamed to admit that I jumped up and annouced, “Oh my God, Simon and Kaylee are on this show!!!” My family looked at me like I was crazy, then laughed before they resumed watching the show.

 

 

Yeah, so that’s it. Nothing too terribly exciting. But seeing as RA’s fangirls squee on occasion, I thought you all might understand the momentary elation quickly followed by embarrassment. Oh, and if you like sci-fi, I’d recommend this show! 🙂
