I’m trying out something new…

…and I’d like your opinion. I made a new header today–or given that it is after midnight here, yesterday. After that I got this crazy idea for a chalkboard background to kind of complement the pegboard header. I’m really pleased with how the header turned out. But I’m on the fence about the background. Part of me thinks it is interesting looking and at least it is something different–plus it has Richard Armitage on it. The other part of me isn’t so convinced.

So dear readers, what do you think? Is the background a keeper or should I keep looking for something different?

I’ve Been Playing

As you may have noticed, I made my new header. I really like it, but I thought it was a little boring after the snow and fireworks. This led to trying to think of something fun to do with it and I discovered a cool feature in GIMP. I turned my header into an animated globe gif. I had to make the background taller to make the images look right. If I had know I could do this I would have picked pictures that didn’t have cut off hair or lower bodies…oops. Experiment and learn is my motto when it comes to this kind of stuff! The globe ended up being too big to be my header, but I thought I would share it anyway.

Yes, I know that I am a nerd. 🙂

Happy New Year

For many out there the new year has already begun. There are still several hours here before we reach the end of 2011. I’ve managed to catch a cold, so I’m not sure I’ll be up to ring in 2012. However, since I’m not feeling so hot I have spent a lot of time lounging around and working on my new header. When you’re not feeling well, working with pictures of your favorite actor-in several of your favorite roles-really does help pass the time and distract you from the stuffy head and sore throat. 😉 If you’ve come by looking for the new header, it should be up some time tomorrow.

I’m looking forward to 2012. The needs that have kept me at home with my family will soon be in the past. Hopefully in the next few months I’ll be settling into a new job halfway around the world. My brother and sister-in-law told us over Christmas that they are expecting another child. So come the middle of the year I’ll have another niece or nephew to spoil!!! I have never really been one for New Year’s resolutions. However, I will be making an effort to get back on track with my diet (the holiday season is just too full of goodies).

For each of you who read this: I wish you every happiness in this coming year. I hope you achieve your goals, whatever they may be and I wish you health, and joy and many blessings!

And since so many are dressed up and going to parties tonight..I thought some eye candy in a tux was appropriate. 🙂

New Headers

Well, we’ve had a blast! We’ve played in the waterpark to our heart’s content (although we will be making one final trip tonight) and done some geocaching. But, all good things must come to an end and we’ll be heading home tomorrow.

I had some down time today and decided to make a banner just for New Year’s. In case you can’t tell, I was trying to make fireworks (I used GIMP). 😉 I’m thinking about playing with Photoshop and making a new banner to put up after the first. Not sure exactly what it will look like, but I’m pretty sure it will feature John Thornton:

There may be some additional chaRActers as well. If you happen by here in the next day or two and have any suggestions for pictures to use, feel free to voice your opinion. You will just have to check back after the New Year and see how the header turns out. 🙂
