Armitage Appreciation

I don’t know about y’all, but I could use a little beauty to appreciate at the moment:

Amitage-Appreciation

Seriously, just look at all the hard work Richard has put into making his body look so amazing! It is simply made to be admired, no? 😉

Do I have room for a plush Thorin?

Life is busy. Not to mention that my beloved St. Louis Cardinals are in the playoffs. Then there is the fact that ItsJSforMe keeps introducing me to books she thinks I’ll like…she has yet to be wrong. There’s also the Twitter campaign attempting to have Richard Armitage cast as Matthew Clairmont in the WB’s A Discovery of Witches. I hadn’t read the book, but that oversight has been rectified.

All of this has left me with little time and to be honest, little inclination for blogging in the last week. Oh, I’ve read other’s blogs, checked out my Twitter feed and Facebook, but I’ve just been uninspired as far as this space goes.

But then I saw the little plush Thorin doll. He’s adorable. I can already imagine snuggling with him in bed. The only problem is, I don’t think he’ll fit!

I think the best explanation is visual:

See my dilemma? I barely fit in the bed, let alone another chaRActer! Maybe he can take up residence on the dresser. I’ll just have to make sure he doesn’t make use of the hookah. 😉

Armitage Mosaics

In case my post about being a polyamorous fangirl didn’t give you a hint, I’ve spent a lot of time lately looking at Tom Hiddleston stuff on the internet. This hasn’t left me much time for Richard Armitage…which isn’t really a big deal since there hasn’t been anything new of late. That being said, today I felt like reconnecting with my main fangirl squeeze. This involved cropping a lot of RA pictures…such a hard task that–looking at picture after picture of Richard Armitage. 😉 Anyway, I found this fun program called AndreaMosaic and have been playing around with it. I still need to play with the advanced features to get the images just so, but I thought I would share what I’ve been doing.

Watching RA with a Teenager: Part 2

The 17 year old neighbor and I finished watching North & South this afternoon. Well, there was no Road to Damascus conversion for her. 😉 Mr. Thornton is still just okay looking, although she thinks the character has a lot of wonderful qualities. I will say this, she was in rare form today with her comments.

North & South from a 17 Year Old’s Perspective: Continued

She comment on how sweet he looked in this scene.

  1. Punch him in the face sir! (This was her response to Higgin’s being ejected from the mill by Williams.)
  2. Ugh, she’s so horrible. (Yes, she still doesn’t think very highly of Margaret.)
  3. She’s so upitty for a servant, she needs to chill! (Don’t we all think this about Dixon?)
  4. Mr. Bell is so cool in his plaid pants, he’s like a hipster.
  5. I took her long enough! (Her response to Margaret acknowledging Mr. Thornton’s good qualities when she urges Higgins to go to him forwork.)
  6. You go Mrs. Thornton, bring her down a peg!
  7. Miss “Hell” is right!
  8. He’s kind of pathetic in a sad, sweet kind of way. (This was her response to the “Look back at me” scene!!!)
  9. Somebody slap her, her brother raised her, such..gah! (I always want to slap Fanny too.)
  10. It just shows how big a heart he has. (After Fanny’s gloating, when Mr. Thorton says, “Thank God Fanny is taken care of.”
  11. He’s so pathetic, like there’s no other girl in the world. (This was her response to, “He was her brother.”)
  12. Margaret and that hat, whew! Can’t she buy a nicer one?
  13. You deserve so much better son! (Her response to railway station scene! What am I going to do with her?)

While the 17 year old doesn’t go for Mr. Thornton, her mom oohed and awed in all the right places. Maybe she’ll be a convert. She did mention something about looking up RA and finding our dear Gisborne attractive. This seems like progress to me! And really, it would take a strong woman to resist the appeal of this:

Friday is Guy Day

This has been a busy week. On top of real life, I’ve been working on my posts for FanstRAvaganza 3.

If you’re still unclear about what F3 is, Servetus explains it here.

I don’t know about you, but I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone’s contributions next week!!! To tide me (and anyone else who’s interested) over until I have something to post, I thought we should admire Guy of Gisborne. It is Guy Day after all!

Pics are from RA Net.
(I really should get out of this slideshow phase.)

Guy of Gisborne Wallpaper

Everyone’s been so excited about the new (old) pictures that were found of Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne. I’ve seen a lot of wonderful siggies, banners and wallpapers made from the new images. RA fans really are a talented lot. 🙂 Here is my contribution:

30 Days of Richard Armitage-Day 14

A favorite personal quote:

I think one of the first Richard Armitage interviews I read was the “My First Million” interview. In that interview they asked him what he would do if he had a million pounds at his disposal. And as I read his response, I remember thinking, “Wow, how generous a thought is that!” So, here is his response to that question–one of my favorite personal quotes:

I would buy a ski chalet in the French Alps. I wouldn’t rent it out but would let my mates and family use it whenever they wanted. It would be brilliant, and I would load the fridge with champagne and leave the key under the mat.

And because no day would be complete without a picture of Richard Armitage and it is Guy Friday…

30 Days of Richard Armitage Challenge-Day 3

Your favorite character:

Umm seriously, this is a trick question right? Am I really supposed to pick just one? If I try really hard I could probably narrow it down to three, maybe… So I’m going to cheat (one of the perks of having your own blog)!

John Thornton: He was my first RA love! I could go on and on about this character. But given that JT is the reason so many of us became fans in the first place, I don’t really think it’s necessary!

All that lovely leather!

Guy of Gisborne: Black leather anyone? No, seriously while the black leather is appealing, I loved this character. So many actors would have just played Gisborne as a cardboard cutout bad guy. Not Richard Armitage. I think (and this may be giving myself too much credit) that had Gisborne not been a character with some good qualities (and no, I’m not talking about his bum in leather), I wouldn’t have liked him. But just like Marian, I could see that there was goodness in him. Or maybe I’m fooling myself and I’m just a sucker with a thing for bad boys (I wouldn’t be the first). 😉

I'm an absolute sucker for that scarf as well...forget those hipster boys, give me JP!

I said I would try and narrow it down to three, so I’ll forgo my beloved Lucas and go with John Porter. I mentioned this in a post just a couple of days ago, but I LOVE the contrast between the soldier and the father. That facet of the story gave RA so much to work with, and he gave an excellent performance.

Experimenting with Photoshop and GIMP

I’ve been playing around with both Photoshop and GIMP, trying to learn better how to use both programs. One of my favorite gifs is this one on bccmee’s blog. I wanted to see if I could try and make something along the same lines. Thanks for the inspiration bccmee (and Guy of Gisborne too)!
