Between putting the Christmas decorations away, a cold and an impromptu trip to the Great Smoky Mountains I haven’t had much time for blogging the last week. Once everything was done, I got a hair brained idea to make a background for my Tumblr. If you’ve ever done this, then you know that sometimes you have to play with the html code to get things to work just right. I have no idea what I’m doing with html–or at least I didn’t before I decided to give changing the background a go–which meant lots and lots of Google searches and trial and error.
I’m happy to say that I actually figured out what I was doing! Here is what I ended up with:
Not only did I get the background image in, I also figured out how to make said image static, so it didn’t scroll with the content! This was only the tip of the iceberg it turned out. I showed it to a few friends and ended up making backgrounds for their Tumblr’s as well AND figuring out how I needed to alter the html for the specific themes they had installed–all part of the learning process.
Here are the other three backgrounds I did:
I’ve discovered a love for lens flares and lighting effects in PS
I had fun making all of these stamps to go with the Postage Tumblr theme!
Did I mention I have a think for lens flares and lighting effects? 😉

If you either think or pretend that Richard Armitage is like a Ken doll, this is not the post for you. Step away from the computer. Do not pass go. You have officially been warned!
I’m a Tumblr junkie…yes, I know, I have a lot of addictions! 😉
Anyway, the other day I was scrolling through my dashboard and came across a Richard Armitage pick up line. Tonight I was trying to find it and discovered that it wasn’t a one off. Oh no…there is an entire thread of pick up lines from RA and his chaRActers. ItsJSforMe and I spent a good while practically in tears as we shrieked with laughter over these.
Here is a sampling of my favorites:
Clearly, I’m obsessed! The original plan was to link to a few of my favorites…but well, how could I pick. I finally just had to cut myself off. You can scroll through all of the pick up lines here.
Sketchlavie, you are my hero!
Yesterday I was looking at Tumblr and I came across this really amazing set of gifs. Curious about how they were made, and liking a challenge, I decided to give making one of my own a try. 🙂 Naturally, I decided to go with a Richard Armitage character, in this case, John Porter. After a lot of trial and error, this is what I came up with.
I can see where making these might become addictive. Oh chaRActers, I think I might have to experiment with more of you! 🙂
Oh and for those of you who read yesterday’s post. I am now the proud aunt of a beautiful little boy! He was born this morning at 10:02!
