We’ve all been waiting for the new vlog, so hurray! There was a lot to love about this one. The dwarf exercise routine was hilarious. But my favorite part was the little snippet of Richard Armitage in costume playing air guitar on Orcrist. Naturally I had to make a GIF so I could watch this bit on repeat. 😉

It almost feels like we’re intruding on a deeply personal moment…he looks so engrossed. I’m not sure we’ll ever see someone create such a beautiful air guitar moment ever again!
Kathryn, I think you’re right about this being the most beautiful air guitar moment we’ll ever see. He does seem really engrossed. I wonder if PJ asks the actors if they are okay about behind-the-scenes moments before he includes them in the vlogs or if everything is fair game.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re fair game when in costume but of course we’ll probably never know…I find myself wanting to know more and more!! 🙂
I wouldn’t be surprised either. Most of the guys seem more than willing to ham it up for the cameras, for which I’m very grateful! 😉 But I just wonder with RA because he seems so protective of Thorin.
I can’t really imagine RA overtly clowning around as Thorin, somehow . . . he is very protective of that character, and there is something to be said for guarding the mystique and allure surrounding the warrior dwarf who would be king. I think that’s one reason we see very little of Richard in these vlogs in terms of up-close stuff as we’ve seen with some of the other actors. But when you think about it, we saw quite a lot of him in action in the various green screen shots—he’s been a busy boy!
I know what you mean. I guess he just has a different MO when he’s working than some of the others. I kind of love that there’s an air of mystery about him.
Me, too. Richard Armitage: International Man of Mystery . . . keeps us guessing.
Sad to say, I think you are right. 😦 He once said he created “sound tracks” for things he was doing. Maybe this is one of those times! I’d love to hear what it sounded like. *sigh*
PS – I really should have thanked you for making the gif Jas! I can’t tell you how long I’ve sat watching it. It seemed like he was quite oblivious to what was going on around him – truly zoned out. I was so pleased to see that even wearing the prosthetics he can still wrinkle his forehead to some degree! 😉

Yes! The air guitar and the Dwarfercise were by far my two favorite moments of the vlog.
Mine, too, Jas. I have to believe those guys thoroughly enjoy their roles and get a kick out of making us smile. Also loved it when the dwarf actors were greeting each other. Those heart-felt hugs and smiles and the joking. Real sense of camaraderie, you know?
