…and I’d like your opinion. I made a new header today–or given that it is after midnight here, yesterday. After that I got this crazy idea for a chalkboard background to kind of complement the pegboard header. I’m really pleased with how the header turned out. But I’m on the fence about the background. Part of me thinks it is interesting looking and at least it is something different–plus it has Richard Armitage on it. The other part of me isn’t so convinced.
So dear readers, what do you think? Is the background a keeper or should I keep looking for something different?
As a former teacher, I get a kick out of the chalkboard background, personally. And I love that particular photo of RA, too. Love the new header, by the way. I need to make my own RA to-do list (finishing The Lady & the Panther would be up there). ๐
Thanks, Angie. I think, the longer I look at the background, the more it is growing on me. I love that picture of him, and it seemed to lend itself well to blending in with the chalkboard. I’m glad you like the new header. It started out as a project for something totally different and morphed into this. The to-do list was a spur of the moment decision, but I like how it all came together!
Oh, and I meant to add, I really hope The Lady and the Panther is at the top of your list! I’m looking forward to reading the completed story someday! ๐
I like it, but it looks more like a corkboard than a chalkboard to me. You have unclaimed smutty RPF’s? Interesting…I’m writing one of those right now. ๐ Don’t know that it will ever see the light of publication though… I’m kind of a chicken…
Thank you, Obscura. The header is corkboard, but the background of the whole blog is a chalkboard. You know, I was wondering if anyone would notice the smutty RPF comment. I do actually write them and they have seen the light of day. They go up anonymously in a place where others also share their stories. Maybe that’d be a good option for you too.
Doh, I’m reading on my phone, so not getting all the detail. I’ll fire it up on the laptop tomorrow. I’ve thought about that, under a pseudo – pseudonym ….like I said, kinda chicken ๐
I can see where reading on your phone would hinder your view of the whole. ๐ If you’re interested I know of a place where you don’t even need a pseudonym. They’ll take your work completely anonymously. There’s drawbacks to that method if you want credit for your work, but if you just want to dip your toes into getting it out there, it is a good option.
Part of me says wtf, why worry about it, the other part really doesn’t want to deal with haters who read stuff they hate so they can tell you how much they hate it. I don’t know if it’s even any good…I’ve only posted one story, so I’m still a bit gunshy about quality. Can I email you off blog for the info?
The haters are a big part of why I go elsewhere to post that kind of stuff. I just didn’t want to deal with the backlash here. And yes, you are more than welcome to email me off blog. ๐
Ohhh, I see it now ๐ I like it!!
Hurray, you can see it all! ๐ I’m glad you like it.
I really need to get my iPad fixed (#1 son dropped it and broke the screen) – laptop is too bulky to read in bed, and I lose too much detail on the 2-1/2″ semi-smart phone screen ๐
Jas!! I LOVE it!! And may I just say that I look forward especially to what is number 1 on you RA To Do List! ๐ I think you really need to watch The Golden Hour! He makes a really fantastic doctor with one of the best bedside manners you would even wish to see!! ๐
Awww thanks, Teuchter!!! I don’t want to get your hopes up too high, but I think I’m making progress with number 1 on the list. I finished the rough draft for the next chapter and sent it off to my betas. With all the time that has passed I have some concerns about whether it flows well with the rest of the story so far. So fingers crossed that they like it! I’m really looking forward to watching the Golden Hour. It kind of boggles my mind thinking about RA playing a doctor. Largely, I think, because it has me imagining my own doctor looking like him. *swoon*
It works, Jas. I like what you’ve done. Your to-do list had me chortling.
I write fanfic, sure, under an alias but I don’t keep it a secret. I have written some RPF but I don’t post it. I want to publish some of my regular fiction, and I’d rather that potential readers or critics not trace back and find RPF.
Thank you for the feedback, Leigh! I’m glad my to-do list gave you a laugh.
When it comes to being brave enough to “claim” my RPFs, I think it is less about pointing to fics X,Y and Z as my own and more about admitting that I not only enjoy reading such stories but also writing them. I wish you luck you much luck in publishing your fiction!
I love it!! The buttons are a terrific idea! The to-do list is great too, but won’t you have to keep updating it? If that’s no trouble then go with it! ๐
Thank you so much Phyll3! I was really pleased with how the buttons turned out, so I’m very glad you like them. The to do list shouldn’t be a problem. Most of the things on it won’t be finished all that quickly and even when they are, I can just go into the PS file and change the text. ๐
I love it! It’s so so so…. fangirlish! And I like your list, especially #1 & #6.
LOL! I love the your description of it as fangirlish, Kitty! That is more or less what I was going for. I know sometimes I take a more serious track, but all of this is first and foremost about having fun. As for the list, I am working on #1 and hopefully this summer I’ll get to do some of #6. ๐
Please, please, please….keep it! Brilliant
Thanks so much for the kind feedback, Kathryn! When I looked at it with fresh eyes this morning, I decided I do actually like it. So I’m planning on keeping it. I’m just even more pleased that you all seem to like it too. ๐
Like.
Thanks, Serv. ๐
Nice header! I look forward to reading more of your John & Maggie fan fic, too.
Thank you, Grati. I’m hoping the fic will go more smoothly from this point forward. *fingers crossed*
I like it. The pictures are terrific but I really like your “things to do” list! ๐
Thank you Mallory. The to-do list was kind of a cheeky last minute inclusion. But I like how it turned out! ๐
Just two words: Love it!!
…or as we say in German: Super!! ๐
I’m so glad you like it, Linda! Thanks for the kind feedback. ๐
