Between putting the Christmas decorations away, a cold and an impromptu trip to the Great Smoky Mountains I haven’t had much time for blogging the last week. Once everything was done, I got a hair brained idea to make a background for my Tumblr. If you’ve ever done this, then you know that sometimes you have to play with the html code to get things to work just right. I have no idea what I’m doing with html–or at least I didn’t before I decided to give changing the background a go–which meant lots and lots of Google searches and trial and error.

I’m happy to say that I actually figured out what I was doing! Here is what I ended up with:

Polyamorous Fangirling Tumblr

Not only did I get the background image in, I also figured out how to make said image static, so it didn’t scroll with the content! This was only the tip of the iceberg it turned out. I showed it to a few friends and ended up making backgrounds for their Tumblr’s as well AND figuring out how I needed to alter the html for the specific themes they had installed–all part of the learning process.

Here are the other three backgrounds I did:

Things2MakeMeSmile Tumblr

I’ve discovered a love for lens flares and lighting effects in PS

RA-Zan13 Tumblr

I had fun making all of these stamps to go with the Postage Tumblr theme!

Random Richard's Ramblings Tumblr

Did I mention I have a think for lens flares and lighting effects? 😉

Great job with the backgrounds! All very different but very nice. You are so talented.

These are great! I’ve wanted to make a background for my own page for ages but I haven’t been game to fiddle with the html code. You’ve inspired me to have a go! 🙂

    • Thanks, Mezz. I hope you do give making one a go. If you need any help figuring out the html I’d be happy to help. I’m still in the trial and error stage, but getting better as I go along.

Thanks for the offer of help Jas, I’ll probably take you up on it! Now I just have to find the time. 🙂

  3. The backgrounds look fantastic! I envy you your patience and ability to know what it is you are looking for when you are Googling. Sometimes I need a neon arrow pointing and saying, “This page has the info you need to make *that* happen.” lol

    Well done, you!

  4. Love it! I’ve been spending a lot of time on tumblr, so I can only be thrilled that one of my gals is out there decorating it all with RA beauty. You’re so talented Miss!
