If you read my post yesterday, then you know I was really frustrated after a completely unsatisfactory conversation with a movie theater service rep. Well, I just got home from running some errands and found this in my email:

able to play higher frame rates and this will be complete before the
release of the Hobbit in December.Thank you,

Woo Hoo! See, some theaters can give definitive answers and it doesn’t hurt that it was the one I was hoping for!!!
If you find out your theater will be showing the higher frame rate, let them know here. They are updating the list with info provided to them.

Yay, indeed! I’m almost as excited by the decisive response as I am that they’ll actually have the higher frame rate! Kind of pathetic on my part, but what can I say. 😉
Thanks for contacting them and great that you got a positive response! The guy you spoke to at the Regal Opry Mills IMAX the other day sounded like a jerk.
Also, I think WB really has to get the ball rolling in terms of educating people as to what high frame rates are. Simply adding the tag “HFR 3D” at the end of The Hobbit’s tv spots isn’t enough…how many people who aren’t movie buffs would know that stands for “high frame rate 3D”?
