Do I have room for a plush Thorin?

Life is busy. Not to mention that my beloved St. Louis Cardinals are in the playoffs. Then there is the fact that ItsJSforMe keeps introducing me to books she thinks I’ll like…she has yet to be wrong. There’s also the Twitter campaign attempting to have Richard Armitage cast as Matthew Clairmont in the WB’s A Discovery of Witches. I hadn’t read the book, but that oversight has been rectified.

All of this has left me with little time and to be honest, little inclination for blogging in the last week. Oh, I’ve read other’s blogs, checked out my Twitter feed and Facebook, but I’ve just been uninspired as far as this space goes.

But then I saw the little plush Thorin doll. He’s adorable. I can already imagine snuggling with him in bed. The only problem is, I don’t think he’ll fit!

I think the best explanation is visual:

See my dilemma? I barely fit in the bed, let alone another chaRActer! Maybe he can take up residence on the dresser. I’ll just have to make sure he doesn’t make use of the hookah. 😉

You can get some of the new Hobbit pillows to add, they’ll fit right in 🙂

I thought about that. Thorin and his key would have been a good fit. Too bad the only bedding set I’ve seen is Kili. 😉

Maybe you could put them on a rotating schedule…RA on Monday, Portah! on Tuesday, Lucas on Wednesday, Thornton on Thursday, Guy on Friday, Harry on Saturday and both Thorins on Sunday…

    • They can be like the underwear that has the day of the week on it! 🙂 I can’t imagine actually having one of these in my bed. But after making the graphic, I’ll admit, it is kind of tempting.

  3. What a way to warm a winter’s night!!! I want a set! 😉

    • I’m sure it would keep you warm. Maybe we should figure out how to make a set…PS just doesn’t cut it. 😉

      • Maybe we should, indeed!
I agree, PS doesn’t do the job. It’s difficult getting comfortable trying to hug a computer. LOL

I think there is still room for the plush Thorin, worst case, you could let him sleep on your chest.

  5. LOL that is just too good! Can’t think of a much better place to sleep at night! 😉 How is A Discovery of Witches?

Maybe I should figure out how to make these for real. I could go into the body pillow business! 😉

For the most part I thought A Discovery of Witches was pretty good. There were places where it really dragged and I wondered when the plot was going to move forward. But the characters are interesting enough that I’m looking forward to reading the second book of the trilogy.

Oh — I meant to ask — is this organized somewhere beyond Twitter? I’ve already said what I think of the book and the possibility he’d play Matthew Clairmont, so I’ll be silent on that … but maybe people should know where to tweet if they want to?

As far as I know it is just Twitter. But then again, I didn’t read the book until the RA hashtag became full of tweets about how he should play Matthew Clairmont. It seems as though they are directing the tweets to @wbpictures.

Do you know if this is just wishful thinking on the part of fans or if he’s mentioned somewhere that he’d like to play the role. I can’t imagine getting involved if it isn’t a role he has voiced a desire to play.

as far as I know he hasn’t said he wanted to play that role, but then recently he never says he wants to play any role except Richard III or something *in* Richard III. The weird thing, though, is that the physical description of the character is really very similar to his — you could easily see Armitage playing this character. I know the author (have met her at conferences and sat with her once in an airport shuttle ride) and if I see her again I am definitely asking her about it.

so, have you had any encounters with Deborah? half way through the book and can’t possibly imagine anyone but Armitage playing Matthew. He looks as though he was born to play a vampire!
