Line Drawings: Richard Armitage

I was looking for a Photoshop tutorial for something I wanted to try. Totally out of character for me, right? 😉 Anyway, I didn’t find what I was looking for, but I did come across another tutorial for making line drawings. Naturally I had to try it out.

Here is the original photo for reference:

Here is the black and white line drawing. I had to find a second tutorial to add stubble.

Then I went through and added color.

I’m not happy with how the mouth turned out, but I gave up after I lost count of how many attempts I made to get it right. Oh well, there’s always next time.

    love the stubble!

Wouldn’t you all love it if it was YOUR hand on that stubble? 😉 Well done with the line drawings Jas. He’s the perfect model to keep you at it! 😀

    • Rhetorical question, right Teuchter? Of course I’d like to have my hand on that stubble! 😉 He is the perfect model. Gotta have someone beautiful to look at and keep me sane as I attempt this stuff. 🙂

I like the b/w one better — and I see what you mean about the lips. But this is a great beginning, no?

    • I like the black and white one better as well. I think his mouth would be easier with a picture where the lips are slightly parted. They would be easier to define. I do think it was a good start though.

His mouth is so surprising, I can imagine it would be hard to draw anyway.

  5. I love the subbles too. 😉
