Excited, Enthusiastic, Obsessed? Who Cares.

Yesterday may have been chocked full of fun, but today was all about the DIY. I’m still correcting the mistake from a couple of months ago, when I accidentally painted latex over oil. I can only stand so much scraping at a time. So I flit from that project to others and back again. Eventually I’ll get it done, but I needed some incentive today.

That’s where my trusty IPod came in. Watching the new Hobbit trailer while I’m at home is apparently not good enough. Oh no, I had to convert the trailer to mp3 format so I could put it on my IPod and listen to it while I worked. Not on constant repeat, but just every once in a while. Nerdy, you bet, but what can I say.

What else helped me get through the day? Just a little something I remembered last night…that I can watch YouTube through our BluRay player. I think the last time I remembered this little tidbit was when the first trailer was released. I’m nice enough to NOT subject  my family to my desire to watch the Hobbit trailer repeatedly. So, I just held on, knowing that when I got home today I’d be able to see Thorin in 60 inches and that incredibly compelling voice rumbling through the surround sound!

Excited? Hell yeah! Enthusiastic? You bet. A little bit obsessed? Probably, but then I have been anxious to see The Hobbit turned into a live action film since the LOTRs movies came out. At this point, I’m just going with the flow…even if it does seem over the top to me. I’m having fun and isn’t that the point of all this in the first place?

  1. As I think you know, I have the first trailer recorded on my DVR and have delighted in watching it repeatedly on the flatscreen and listening to the glorious rumble in Surround Sound. 😉 So I can completely understand your excitement!!! You know, if people can become totally unglued as sports fans and it’s acceptable, then surely it’s OK for us to bliss out over this amazing individual and the film as a whole . . . I’m just sayin.’ And if it’s not OK–I don’t care, I am still gonna do it! LOL

LOL I did the same thing Jas! Loaded the audio onto my iPod and when I finally got to bed in the early hours of the morning, I had to listen to it a few more times. Seeing your photo above reminds me to add this new trailer to the USB stick with the first one to watch on the TV. With surround sound…mmm *rummages around for said stick*

    • Mezz, I’m so glad to know I’m not alone! I’m still replaying it every once in a while. Not as often as those first couple of days, but you know… 😉

Completely understandable! We need motivation in life, something to compensate for the sheer drudgery, and hey, this sure works for me.

    • Yup, this is definite compensation, Leigh! It is so nice to have like minded people out here in cyberland. 🙂
