I have often imagined that if these were sculptures in bronze, various parts would be polished to shiny brilliance by all the petting, stroking, and yes, licking (euw, bronze, ptooey).
Leah, I think you are right. The sculptures would have to be behind ropes or maybe even glass…and even then the museum might need guards!
Perhaps visitors to the museum could somehow be disciplined via invisible fencing
Invisible fencing would definitely be a feasible deterrent. Try and lick Thorin at the risk of electric shock!
